The Eybler Quartet has long been internationally-recognized for its excellent and ground-breaking recordings of both well and lesser known composers of the 18th and 19th centuries. The release of this double album, a rare world premiere recording, marks the group’s 20th anniversary season. More importantly, it fills a historical void: like his famous friend and colleague Ludwig van Beethoven, the virtuoso violist Franz Weiss composed a remarkable and innovative set of string quartets for the Russian diplomat Count Andrey Razumovsky. While Beethoven's "Razumovsky" Quartets are well known and beloved by audiences, Weiss's have been all but forgotten--until now. The immersive mixes were created by Ron Searles at Red Maple Sound.
