Big Big Train has a long backstory. The band was originally founded in 1990 and went through a number of line-up changes in the first 15 or so years of its existence. As part of preparations for returning to live performance, the band assembled at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios in August 2014 for a live-in-the-studio session. The live line-up at the time included David Longdon, Danny Manners, Rachel Hall, Rikard Sjöblom (Beardfish and Gungfly), Dave Gregory (XTC), Nick D’Virgilio (Spock’s Beard, Tears For Fears), Andy Poole, and Gregory Spawton. A film crew was in attendance, capturing the band’s unique brass-accompanied live sound without the pressure of an audience. Featuring songs primarily from The Underfall Yard (2009) and English Electric (2012/2013) studio albums, the resulting sessions were recorded and mixed in 5.1 surround sound by Rob Aubrey. The standard edition contains the 5.1 surround mix as audio -only 48-khz/24-bit FLAC files, while the deluxe contains MKV files with the concert film synched to DTS-HD 5.1 audio. NOTE: These are very large files, please ensure you have a fast internet connection when downloading.
