Oceans is unique from a stylistic point-of-view for Jennifer Thomas, as she explores the use of layering multiple pianos and sound effects. The album's sonic landscape carries themes that involve the multi-layered piano, as well as string bends and electronic effects that really transport the listener into the world of Oceans. The album was completed by film score composer Glen Gabriel's brilliant orchestrations. Three of the songs are two-piano duets (the "Metamorphosis" Suite and "Transcendence," featuring pianist Ryan Stewart alongside Jennifer). Jennifer also makes her vocal debut on the original song "You Carried Me Home", as well as on a cover of Coldplay's "Something Just Like This." Oceans was mixed in Dolby Atmos by Brian Vibberts.
