Sigur Rós singer and composer Jónsi has announced a new album, First Light, due out on August 30. For the record, which he initially conceived as a video game score, Jónsi partnered with the music and wellness platform Myndstream, who will release it in partnership with Lakeshore. In a press release, Jónsi said, “Writing this music at a time of manmade global turmoil and unrest for a video game. I imagined First Light as a momentary fantastical, over-the-top, utopian world where everyone and everything lives together in everlasting peace and harmony.
