Big Big Train has a long backstory. The progressive rock band was originally founded in 1990 and went through a number of line-up changes in the first 15 or so years of its existence. Empire (2020) captures the group's fantastic live perfomance at the Hackney Empire venue on November 2nd, 2019. Featuring material from the English Electric (2012/2013), Folklore (2016), Grimspound (2017), and Grand Tour (2019) studio albums, Empire was filmed by Tim Sidwell and mixed in 5.1 surround sound by Big Big Train’s sound engineer Rob Aubrey. The standard edition contains the 5.1 surround mix as 48-khz/24-bit FLAC files, while the deluxe contains MKV files with the concert film synched to DTS-HD 5.1 audio.
