Romy Madley Croft, best known as a member of acclaimed indie pop band The xx, ventured into new artistic territory with her debut solo album Mid Air. First released through Young Records in September 2023, the album is a vibrant exploration of love, heartbreak, and self-discovery delivered through a euphoric blend of dance-pop and house music. 

Produced in collaboration with Fred Again and Stuart Price—both renowned for their contributions to contemporary pop and electronic music—the album represents a significant departure from the minimalist sound of The xx. Influenced by her lifelong love of dance music, it draws heavily from house, trance, and pop traditions. Mid Air earned widespread critical acclaim upon its release, with the single "Strong" receiving a nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Recording at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards.

Mid Air is also Romy’s first release to receive an immersive mix, created by producer Stuart Price. Though the Dolby Atmos mix has been available to stream since 2023, we at Immersive Audio Album are thrilled to now offer the album as an exclusive immersive digital download through our online shop!

IAA offers immersive digital downloads in the lossless Dolby TrueHD format. While streaming services offer convenience and access to a vast library of music, they also severely compress the audio to save bandwidth. With lossless TrueHD, the inner detail and sonic clarity is much better preserved for home listeners.

Mid Air is the fifteenth entry in an ongoing series of high-resolution digital immersive releases from IAA and Beggars Group, one of the world's largest and most-respected independent label groups. Beggars Group is home to 4AD, Matador Records, Rough Trade, XL Recordings and Young, as well as a growing publishing wing (Beggars Music) and a successful catalog imprint (Beggars Arkive).
